Empire Racing Cars applies high-level motorsport knowledge, expertise and technology to specialist speed hillclimb machinery—then goes further, incorporating ideas that Formula 1 cannot use.
A defining collaboration
The Empire Wraith’s aerodynamics were created with Professor Willem Toet—former Head of Aerodynamics at Benetton, Ferrari and Sauber Formula 1 teams. His contribution brought genuine Formula 1-level aerodynamic knowledge into a specialist British hillclimb and sprint car.
From CFD-led body development to the conditioning of airflow around the complete car, Willem’s work is central to what makes the Wraith different.

The Empire story
Empire Racing Cars designs and constructs specialist Sprint and Hillclimb machinery in Britain, with a range stretching from the pioneering 00 and Evo through the Evo 2 and full-carbon Evo 3 to the technically ambitious Wraith.
The cars have competed in Britain and overseas, with Empire machinery appearing across national and regional hillclimb competition.

Empire Racing Cars takes pride in the supportive, family atmosphere enjoyed by its drivers. An active private WhatsApp group keeps owners connected throughout the season, while Bill and the team provide manufacturer support at many hillclimbs and sprints.
